The snow-covered landscapes of Sand in Taufers offer a wide variety of exciting winter activities.
Three big ski areas with guaranteed snow await you with perfectly groomed slopes and fantastic offerings for kids. A free ski shuttle takes you every 20 minutes directly from the hotel to the Kronplatz, Klausberg, and Speikboden ski areas.
For ski tours, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and of course downhill skiing, the Kronplatz holiday area offers ideal conditions.
SPEIKBODEN SKI AREA
Near Sand in Taufers, the Speikboden ski area beckons with 38 kilometres of slopes. Kids learn to ski casually at the “Mini Ski Club” and the “Adventure Park,” while parents can sometimes hit the slopes together. For snowboarders, a 700-metre-long fun park awaits. The longest natural toboggan run in South Tyrol leads from the summit station to the valley.
KLAUSBERG SKI AREA
The Klausberg family ski area is located not far from Sand in Taufers in Ahrntal. Beginners and experts can enjoy 30 kilometres of slopes. For the little ones, there’s “Klausiland,” the ski kindergarten with ski lessons and many exciting attractions, such as a slide and an alpine roller coaster. Nighttime tobogganing is also possible on the illuminated slope – an experience for the whole family!
KRONPLATZ SKI AREA
At the Kronplatz ski area, on the most famous mountain in the Puster Valley, 119 kilometres of slopes and a mixture of long, leisurely valley runs and the “Black Five” – five challenging black slopes – await you. The large snow park for freestylers and the many diverse events round out the Kronplatz experience.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING - REIN IN TAUFERS
Ahrntal isn’t only a paradise for downhill skiers and snowboarders, but also for cross-country skiers. Over 80 kilometres of groomed trails in diagonal and skating style await you between 900 and 1600 metres above sea level. In particular, Rein in Taufers, which is only 15 minutes away, is known as the cross-country skiing destination of the Tauferer Ahrntal. One of the longest high trails between spruces and pines runs through here. At cross-country skiing school, you can improve your style and put the finishing touches on your skiing technique.
